DIY Natural Hair Conditioning Treatment for 3a-4c Hair types/Part 1

Video Part 1

Have you ever wondered what the difference is between a deep conditioner and a hair protein treatment?

A lot! With a deep conditioner you can do as often and as freely as every week or monthly to increase hydration and overall hair health!

What about a protein treatment? It gets tricky... why? Protein can strengthen the hair shaft hardening it from the inside out making it resilient and protect the length but to much to often can create damage. Protein treatments are great if you're only using them on your hair for 20 minutes or so, but keeping protein on your hair for several hours can make your hair too heavy.. which is not good! It could even result in breakage. Why even bother? Your hair is made of a tough protein called keratin.. after repeated styling you weaken this natural source of protein and so it is necessary to reinforce your hair shaft by adding protein back from what’s been worn down. Think about all that daily blow drying, combing, flat ironing etc... yeah you’re hair needs a hand.

Pro tip: “Only” do a protein treatment every 4-6weeks no more!! Always add moisture as softener to your mix. Protein+Hydrator= perfect healthy balance. Protein used this way is very healthy and encouraged. Sit under heated dryer for 15-20mins and last 5 mins let hair cool at room temp. Gently rinse hair with lukewarm water and you got your keratin back !
